Welcome to Woodbury, named the best place to live among cities with less than 100,000 residents from Money Magazine in December of 2003. Woodbury was given these high marks based on home prices and property taxes being below the national average, a low crime rate, easy access to golf courses and our plentiful parks and recreational trails. Woodbury has an extensive history that dates back to 1844 when the first settlers arrived. Originally Woodbury was named Red Rock, after a sacred stone reportedly painted by the famous Dakota Chief Little Crow. In 1859 the town was renamed to Woodbury after Judge Levi Woodbury, a close friend of Woodbury’s first town board chairman. Today, Woodbury’s population exceeds 47,000 and is expected to reach 80,000 by 2010. Even though Woodbury is growing at a rapid rate, this vibrant city has 2,000 acres of dedicated park land and approximately 75 miles of trails. There are currently 38 neighborhood parks which form the cornerstone of the city’s park system and features amenities such as playground equipment, athletic fields, picnic areas, trails and skating rinks. Also available for families is the Tamarack Nature Preserve, Carver Lake and Ojibway Parks, Bielenberg Sports Center, Eagle Valley Golf Course, and Prestwick Golf Course in Wedgewood. Working With An Agent >Active Marketing
It takes a lot more than a "For Sale" sign in the front yard, a Multiple Listing entry, and an occasional ad in the classifieds to get a home listing sold. Be sure to discuss the details of the marketing plan with the companies and real estate agents you interview about selling your home.
Real estate agents who provide high quality service will usually have a written marketing plan tailored to fit your home and your individual needs. A good marketing plan begins with pricing the home appropriately. It involves exposing your home to as many real estate professionals and qualified buyers as possible. The agent's job is to get buyers through your front door; your job is to ensure that the buyers like what they see. Top agents are very active in finding prospective buyers and in coaching sellers about how to enhance their home's presentation. There are differences in the marketing approaches of companies and individual agents, so ask for a written plan to give you a clear idea of what you can expect of your agent.
