Welcome to Woodbury, named the best place to live among cities with less than 100,000 residents from Money Magazine in December of 2003. Woodbury was given these high marks based on home prices and property taxes being below the national average, a low crime rate, easy access to golf courses and our plentiful parks and recreational trails. Woodbury has an extensive history that dates back to 1844 when the first settlers arrived. Originally Woodbury was named Red Rock, after a sacred stone reportedly painted by the famous Dakota Chief Little Crow. In 1859 the town was renamed to Woodbury after Judge Levi Woodbury, a close friend of Woodbury’s first town board chairman. Today, Woodbury’s population exceeds 47,000 and is expected to reach 80,000 by 2010. Even though Woodbury is growing at a rapid rate, this vibrant city has 2,000 acres of dedicated park land and approximately 75 miles of trails. There are currently 38 neighborhood parks which form the cornerstone of the city’s park system and features amenities such as playground equipment, athletic fields, picnic areas, trails and skating rinks. Also available for families is the Tamarack Nature Preserve, Carver Lake and Ojibway Parks, Bielenberg Sports Center, Eagle Valley Golf Course, and Prestwick Golf Course in Wedgewood. Selling Your Home >An Empty House
There are two schools of thought about whether it is better to show a house empty or with the furnishings in it. An empty house is like a blank canvas, and prospective buyers can more easily imagine what their things would look like in it. But buyers could take the fact that the house is vacant as a sign that the sellers are very anxious to sell and, therefore, might entertain a low offer.
Our recommendations are usually based on how the house would look. Personal taste is highly subjective. Unless your furniture looks really wonderful and is neutral in color and conservative in style, it could distract buyers from the most attractive qualities of your home. The fact that your home is vacant could give it a competitive edge when they make their final selection. Will it attract low offers? It might, but if the price is right, it will attract reasonable offers, too.
